Pundit drops ‘big’ verdict after Arsenal make Tierney decision – Footymercato.com

Kieran Tierney has no long-term future at Arsenal but will have plenty of suitors from the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson claimed Mikel Arteta does not see the Scotsman in his plans as he is not capable of helping the Gunners progress.

As revealed by Football Insider (13 March) Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for the left-back in the summer window.

The 26-year-old was sent on loan to La Liga side Real Sociedad at the start of the season, but recurring hamstring setbacks have limited his game time.

Arteta does not see Kieran Tierney as part of his Arsenal plans

Robinson believes that the Gunners will have no problem selling Tierney, but was adamant that his future lies away from the Emirates Stadium.

“Tierney is absolutely still Premier League quality,” he told Football Insider.

“But if you look at the level that Arsenal have gone to, they’ve closed the gap quickly on Man City and Liverpool.

“Arteta clearly doesn’t see Tierney as a part of that progression and he wants to bring in players that he feels can compete with City and Liverpool on a regular basis.

“For any player that is allowed to go out on loan, questions will be asked about their long-term future.

“Tierney’s future is obviously away from Arsenal.

“But he is still a top player and he had a big impact at Arsenal and there won’t be any shortage of takers from Premier League clubs should he be available.”
