Sassuolo are now on the verge of sacking manager Alessio Dionisi after a poor run of results in the Serie A.
The Neroverdi took a 3-2 beating at the hands of Empoli yesterday. It was their sixth loss in a row and the last time Sassuolo won a league game was against Fiorentina on the 7th of January. Before that, they had failed to win in five as well. They have, essentially, won just once in 11 games in the league.
La Gazzetta dello Sport state that the loss to Empoli will prove to be fatal for Dionisi. He will be sacked by Sassuolo and the announcement will be made in the next few hours.
The Neroverdi are already looking at potential replacements and some names on the shortlist are Leonardo Semplici and Davide Ballardini. Emiliano Bigica could also be promoted from the Sassuolo Primavera side. The club are hoping and planning to announce a replacement as soon as possible.
