The Minnesota Vikings have lost one of their top offensive players for the rest of the season.
Two-time Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson suffered a season-ending ACL and MCL injury Sunday in a loss to the Detroit Lions, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters Tuesday.
Hockenson hurt his knee on a third-quarter catch when Lions safety Kerby Joseph dove toward his legs.
Hockenson (95 catches, 960 yards, five touchdowns) has been Minnesota’s top receiver this season.
The Vikings acquired Hockenson in a trade with the Lions in November 2022.
Minnesota (7-8) is one game back of a wild-card spot with two games left.
Meanwhile, O’Connell said receiver Jordan Addison, who exited the game against Detroit with an ankle injury, is day to day.
