Volvo has released a handful of teaser images of its all-electric EM90 minivan, set to premiere on November 12. The new model, based around the Zeekr 009 already on sale in China, will be an important new offering for the Swedish car manufacturer and is shaping up to be quite striking too.
The teaser images were snapped inside a home and show the EM90 hiding behind curtains and parts of it poking through the windows. One of the teasers provides us with our best look yet at the overall size and profile of the EM90 and it certainly looks large. Key elements visible in this teaser include the silver and black wheels, the sharkfin, and the upright roof.
One of the other teasers shows of the Volvo’s LED taillights. These include thick elements that run vertically up the pillars as well as LEDs running horizontally. It’s a unique look for the Volvo brand and will certainly make the EM90 stand out on the road.

The final two teasers give us a glimpse of the minivan’s front end which looks a little more conventional. Headlights with the Thor’s Hammer LED daytime running lights are immediately identifiable. It also appears as though the EM90 will have a large chrome grille with an illuminated Volvo badge sitting in the center.
It’s very likely that the powertrain of the EM90 will be identical to that of the Zeekr 009. As such, it will probably be equipped with CATL’s 140 kWh Qilin battery pack using lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry. This battery gives the 009 up to 511 miles (822 km) of range according to the CLTP cycle and drives a pair of electric motors delivering a combined 536 hp.
