My $1 Walmart DIY makes for the perfect Christmas decor with vintage charm

A DIY-LOVING woman has shared a cost-efficient trick to making timeless-looking Christmas decor.
The decorations are simple to DIY and cost just $1 each from Walmart.
Susana Zaldivar (@home.coop.garden) shared the festive hack with her 19,000 TikTok followers.
In a recent clip, she shared how she was inspired to craft some vintage-looking decorations after visiting Walmart’s dollar section.
Susana picked up some painted clay bell ornaments from Walmart.
She said: “With a little DIY, these will be transformed.”
She began by removing the length of twine used to hang the ornaments, reserving it for use later.
Next, the influencer used Rust-oleum high heat enamel to spray the bells inside and out, turning them black.
Susana said: “Then I’ll go in with some Rub n Buff in the shade Grecian gold.
“You’re going to want to rub it in until you get the color you like. You want some of the black to come through to create a more ‘vintage’ look.
“Slowly building up and applying different shades creates dimension and contrast, and really brings this project to life.”
After those two coats of color, the dollar decorations resembled vintage metal bells.
The DIYer restrung them on the twine and knotted a few bells together to create a hanging garland with a timeless appeal.
She added a velvet bow and hung them on her mantelpiece.
Viewers loved Susana’s ingenuity. One person wrote: “This looks so good!”
Another said: “Wow they look amazing, great idea.”
