HARTFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Bradley Schaffer, 45, of Hartford that happened on Thursday. He was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.

The sheriff’s office says that Schaffer, a former resident of Queensbury, was receiving assistance from the Section 8 Tenant-Based Rental Voucher Program, administered through the Glens Falls Housing Authority. Law enforcement officials say that in October, Schaffer did not disclose earned income wages from employment, allowing him to receive $3656 in housing assistance that he would not have been eligible for otherwise.

Schaffer was arraigned in Central Arraignment. He was then released pending a future appearance in Queensbury Town Court.
