The Women’s Super League (WSL) team, West Ham United (WHU) Women have announced a partnership with the sugar-free sports drink, WOW HYDRATE.
The brand has been designated the club’s official sports hydration partner, as per the agreement, which also includes a boost in the club’s commercial leadership.
WOW HYDRATE was established in 2014 and has collaborated with several prominent sports teams and sportsmen, such as Manchester United, MMA fighter Leon Edwards, and British boxer Tyson Fury.
The brand’s current goal is to enter the lucrative women’s football market, which is expanding annually as a result of the sport’s recent success in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 and the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, which brought with it new sponsorship opportunities in domestic leagues.
West Ham United have additionally persisted in seeking methods to expand the game. The club partnered with eToro, a trading platform, last year to reach the rapidly expanding number of female retail investors.
Nathan Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer, West Ham United, said, “We are thrilled to welcome WOW Hydrate as the club’s official sports hydration partner. Hydration is a crucial aspect of our players’ preparation and partnering with WOW Hydrate ensures that our athletes have access to the best hydration solutions available. We look forward to a successful collaboration that benefits our team’s performance and overall well-being.”
Beyond the field as well, the partnership will take on cooperative projects and community outreach programmes aimed at raising awareness among fans of staying hydrated and maintaining good health.
The arrangement also gives WOW HYDRATE’s Managing Director, Queenie Porter, a new position. With agreements like the ones previously mentioned, Porter has elevated the sports drink brand to unprecedented heights.
To support the team’s continued development on and off the pitch, Porter will work alongside current vice presidents Mickey Cornwell and Ghulam Alahi.
Porter commented, “We are honoured to join forces with West Ham United women’s team – a club with a rich history and a commitment to excellence. Our mission at WOW Hydrate is to revolutionise hydration and this partnership allows us to support elite athletes with our cutting-edge products. We look forward to contributing to the success of the team and fostering a relationship that promotes health, performance and innovation”
