It’s Labour Day on Monday, which means most stores and services in the Forest City will be closed. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed in London.

It’s the last long weekend of the summer as Canadians celebrate Labour Day, a statutory holiday that has taken place on the first Monday of September since 1894.

Here’s what you need to know about what’s open and closed on in London.

Recreation

Shopping, Food and Drinks

  • CF Masonville Place, Westmount Shopping Centre, White Oaks Mall  and the Covent Garden Market will be closed.
  • Many pharmacies are open, call ahead to check store hours.
  • All LCBO locations will be closed.
  • Select Beer Store locations will be open from 11 a.m to 6 p.m., including:
    • 1080 Adelaide Street North
    • 1600 Dundas Street East
    • 414 Wharncliffe Road
  • Most restaurants, coffee shops, and fast-food locations will be open.

Transit

  • London Transit will be running on a holiday schedule. For up-to-date route times and schedules, check realtime.londontransit.ca.

Banks and Government Services

  • All City of London offices will be closed on Labour Day and will reopen for business on Tuesday.
  • Banks will be closed for Labour Day.
  • Canada Post offices will also be closed on Monday.
  • City of London garbage collection will be rescheduled for Tuesday. For Wednesday garbage pickup, the collection schedule covers any changes that could occur thanks to Labour Day.
