The wrecked Lamborghini Countach from “The Wolf of Wall Street” has been auctioned by Bonhams at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi GP. It sold for $1.35 million.
Leonardo DiCaprio drove this Countach in the 2013 film directed by Martin Scorsese. In the film, stockbroker Jordan Belfort, played by DiCaprio, damages the car while attempting to drive it back home.
According to Bonhams, the filmmakers inflicted additional damage to the car to give it a more wrecked appearance. Given its Hollywood connection, this Countach was estimated to fetch between $1.5-2 million.
The ‘Countach 25th Anniversary Edition’ was built to celebrate 25 years of Lamborghini. Only 658 examples were produced, featuring a unique rear spoiler, and redesigned air vents. It was powered by a 5.2-liter V12 producing 455 hp and had a top speed of 183 mph.
