Woman shares genius hack to bring shrunken clothes back to life

THERE are few things more annoying than opening the washing machine, only to find that you’ve accidentally shrunk your favourite jumper.
And while most of us assume that the garment is ruined by this point, one woman has insisted there’s a clever trick you can try to restore the clothes to their normal size.
“Next time you shrink a piece of clothing, don’t freak out,” the woman said in a video on the Well Kept Space Instagram account.
“This tip will save you and your favourite shirt.
“What happens when you shrink your favourite shirt? I‘ve got an easy solution for you.”
She then said to fill a bowl with water and a tablespoon of hair conditioner, before soaking your garment in the solution for around 30 minutes.
When you take it out of the liquid, give it a good squeeze and – while still wet – gently pull on the fabric.
“The conditioner will loosen the fibres in the clothing, and after it dries, the piece will go back to its original shape,” they added.
However, people in the comments section were divided as to whether or not the hack actually worked.
“Great tip!” one wrote.
“I’m going to try this,” another vowed.
“Excellent,” a third gushed.
As someone else commented: “Oooh thank you!”
“What in the world???? Where were you the last 40 years of my life?,” another added.
“It kind of does but never the same,” someone else wrote.
“I rewash it again and stretch it out it on a hanger to dry it works for me,” another said.
“It works on wool or cashmere, but only if washed not dried and it’s not perfect,” someone else commented.
“Definitely need to remember this!” another said.
“Baby soap works great too! Easier to clean out after soaking,” someone else said.
But others were convinced that the hack wouldn’t work.
“I do not believe this,” one wrote.
“I tried and didn’t become as before anymore,” another said.
