WWE star Sami Zayn ‘injured in brutal beatdown’ as Jey Uso gets taken out

Sami Zayn appears to have been written off WWE television with an injury just days after his best friend Kevin Owens was also taken out.
The former Intercontinental Champion was in action on Monday Night Raw this week in a barnstorming match against Drew McIntyre as the Scottish Warrior is breaking at the seams.
As the pair fought in a fantastic back and forth battle, McIntyre started targeting Zayn’s knee, and as the referee checked in the underdog, he hit him with a Claymore Kick.
That was enough to get the win for the heavyweight, but there was more damage to come.
Backstage, Zayn was getting checked on by a doctor when McIntyre appeared out of nowhere and went back on the attack, focusing on his leg before being forced away by Adam Pearce.
This comes just days after Kevin Owens also looked to be written off TV on SmackDown after a match against loudmouthed Aussie star Grayson Waller.
In a social media video, WWE showed him heading to get his hand X-rayed following the clash, before later writing on X (formerly Twitter): ‘UPDATE: [Kevin Owens] has sustained an injury, fracturing his 4th and 5th metacarpal during #SmackDown last night.’
It’s currently unclear whether either KO or Zayn’s injuries are legitimate or simply part of their respective storylines, as well as how long both men will be kept out for.
Meanwhile, McIntyre’s reign of terror is continuing on Raw as he made his presence felt in shocking scenes at the end of the show following Seth Rollins’ successful World Heavyweight Championship defence against Jey Uso.
After another blockbuster match on a stacked episode of Raw, the Visionary held onto his title after pinning the valiant challenger, but Uso was quickly taken out by the Scotsman.
McIntyre laid out the former Bloodline member while also taking out Rollins, and insisted ‘the truth will set you free’ as he continues to rage against perceived hypocrisy in the way he and the rest of the roster are being treated.
WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
