WWE’s Vince McMahon, 78, needs cane to walk at Tyson Fury fight

Former WWE owner Vince McMahon stepped out using a cane for this evening’s Tyson Fury fight.
The company’s executive chairman, who assumed that role when WWE was merged with UFC under the new TKO banner after Endeavor’s acquisition last month, has been seen arriving at the event in Saudi Arabia.
Boxing champion Fury is fighting Francis Ngannou tonight in Riyadh, and some famous faces in the professional wrestling world have stepped out to support him.
The 78-year-old businessman was spotted with a walking stick – after reportedly undergoing spinal surgery over the summer – as he stepped onto the red carpet with WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker and both men suited up for the occasion.
Sporting jet black hair and hints of a moustache, he went with a white shirt and blue tie paired with a dark suit, while Undertaker went for a typically all black ensemble.
Fury has his own connections to the wrestling world, having beat Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia in November 2019, while he also got involved in the main event of Clash At The Castle in Cardiff in September 2022.
Saturday night marked a rare public appearance for McMahon, whose appearance at TKO’s launch on the New York Stock Exchange was one of the only times people have seen him in an official capacity since announcing the merger back in April.
McMahon temporarily retired in July 2022 amid allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money payments before returning to the board of directors earlier this year.
He helped facilitate the merger, while his influence on the on-screen product also grew again, but recent reports have suggested Triple H – real name Paul Levesque – is now in sole control of WWE’s creative output.
As executive chairman, McMahon will still be involved in negotiations for the upcoming TV rights deals for Raw and NXT, with SmackDown already confirmed to be heading to USA Network in the US in 2024.
Appearing at the Fury fight, he also addressed now being under the same banner as UFC president Dana White, insisting that they ‘get along’.
‘We’re good partners, and good businessmen. If you’re a good businessman, you get along,’ he claimed to reporters, while Undertaker admitted he was amused by the situation.
‘I think it’s hilarious, they’re so similar – all due respect! They’re very similar, they say what’s on their minds and they’re both really good businessman. They definitely want the best for each of their brands,’ he said.
‘I’m a better businessman by far,’ McMahon interjected as the former world champion laughed: ‘Oh yeah, no doubt.’
