A woman who alleges she was raped by Russell Brand against a wall in his Los Angeles home wrote a letter to the comedian telling him: ‘You completely broke me down’.

The alleged attack is one of multiple claims from women accusing him of abusive and predatory behaviour, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, between 2006 and 2013.

Brand ‘absolutely denies’ the allegations and insists all his relationships have been consensual.

The businesswoman, who The Times have called Nadia to protect her identity, told the publication she has spoken out after being enraged he has cultivated a new image as a wellness influencer when ‘I know the demon underneath.’

Nadia, who alleges Brand raped her without a condom when she went to his LA home in July 2012, said she wrote the star a letter o him after contemplating, and ultimately deciding against, criminal or civil proceedings.

In her letter to Brand, originally meant to be between her and her therapist, Nadia wrote: ‘Do you know what you put me through? My body through? My emotions and body are turned upside down … You scared the sh** out of me on July 1st.’

She continued: ‘I thought in any situation I would be strong enough to fight someone off. But when it’s someone you know, you don’t expect to be put in that position. You completely broke me down. ‘

Following the alleged attack, Nadia said she went to a rape treatment centre – which she told Brand in the letter. ‘I didn’t see the fun loving guy in front of me,’ she wrote. ‘I saw a man who couldn’t control himself and the word NO is more of a challenge than a command.’

Nadia, who was in her 30s at the time, claims she exchanged numbers with Brand at a party before being invited to his house in June 2012, where they went on to have consensual sex.

Brand later pleaded her to visit his house again early in the morning of July 1 after sending her a text during an earlier exchange suggesting her to ‘bring a friend’.

She then met up with Brand again at his house on the morning of July 1, during which she alleges that the comedian raped her against a wall after she told him multiple times to ‘get off’.

Upon arriving at his house, she said the door was unlocked and she walked straight in. She added: ‘He comes running out of the bedroom naked. And I’m kind of taken aback. I’ve got a bag on my shoulder, a little dress and a coat on top.’

Nadia alleged that Brand pushed her against a wall and kissed her. She says he then told her that ‘a friend’ was waiting in his bedroom to join them.

She said: ‘I’m like, no, that’s not happening, I don’t care, that’s not happening, we’re not doing that.’

Nadia alleged Brand then raped her without a condom. Once he had finished she pushed him away and ran over to the door, she claimed.

She said that Brand blocked the doorway to stop her from leaving and told her to ‘calm down’. She said he eventually moved out the way when she asked to go to the bathroom.

Texts seen by the Times reportedly sent by Brand later that night read: ‘I’m sorry. That was crazy and selfish. I hope you can forgive me, I know that you’re a lovely person. X.’ He reportedly tried phoning her at 3.51am, which Nadia did not answer.

Nadia said she did not reply to Brand’s text until 10.59am and told Brand that he had  ‘scared the shit out of me’. She added: ‘When a girl say (sic) NO it means no. Do I have to go and get myself tested?’

Brand replied that he was ‘very sorry’ and told Nadia: ‘You don’t need to get tested’.

Nadia later went to a rape treatment centre on the same day and went on to have therapy at the clinic for five months, according to documents seen by the Times.

Before the allegations were published, Brand shared a YouTube video saying he had received two ‘extremely disturbing letters from a ‘mainstream media TV company’ and a newspaper.

Addressing his fans, the comedian said he had been accused of ‘a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, which are untrue’.

Russell Brand’s comments in full:

Hello there you awakening wonders. Now this is not the usual type of video we make on this channel where we critique, attack and undermine the news in all its corruption because in this story I am the news.

I have received two extremely disturbing letters – or a letter and an email – one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff, like my community festival should be stopped and I shouldn’t be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.

But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to a time when I was in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous.

During that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well.

And to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question is there another agenda at play.

Particularly when we have seen coordinated media attacks before, like Joe Rogan where he dared to take a medicine the mainstream media didn’t approve of and we saw a spate of headlines of media outlets around the world using the same language.

I am aware that you guys in the comments have been for a while saying ‘watch out Russell, they’re coming for you,’ ‘you are getting too close to the truth’, ‘Russell Brand did not kill himself’.’

I know a year ago there was a spate of articles: Russell Brand is a conspiracy theorists; Russell Brand is right wing.

I am aware of newspapers making phone calls, sending letters to people I know. For ages and ages, it’s been clear to me or at least feels to be there’s a serious and consorted agenda to control these kinds of spaces and these kind of voices.

I need my voice along with your voice. I don’t mind them using my books and my stand up to talk about my promiscuous sexual conduct in the past. What I seriously refute are these very, very serious, criminal allegations.

Also its worth mentioning that there are witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives that these two mainstream media outlets are trying to construct, apparently in what seems to be to me a coordinated attack.

Now, I don’t want to get into this any further because of the serious nature of the allegations but I feel like I’m being attacked and plainly they are working very closely together.

We are obviously going to look into this matter because it is very, very serious.

In the meantime, I want you to stay close, stay awake but more importantly than any of that, if you can stay free.
